Ingeborg Grunwald

Class of IST 2020

Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs with a Minor in Legal Studies at John Cabot University (Rome)

How long did you attend IST?
I attended IST from Kinder 5 through graduation.

What was your thesis title?
Actually, I have two! In High School my thesis was titled “SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities as a Plausible Solution to Tackle Climate Change, Particularly in the Presence of Ineffective Political Policies.” I also recently completed my Undergraduate Degree, and my thesis was titled “China’s Establishment as a Neo-Colonial Power Through the Belt and Road Initiative: The Fulfillment of Colonialism, One with Chinese Characteristics.”

What was your IST House?
At IST, I was part of Busara.

In what ways were you prepared for your future studies?
The work ethic I developed at IST was of crucial importance in my undergraduate studies in general.

In Grade 5, you planned on being?
In Grade 5, I probably wanted to do something science-related because of Ms. Carla’s engaging Science classes. Now I’m getting a Masters in International Economics with a focus on China. I guess my Grade 5 self would be very confused.

What is your favorite memory from IST?
Without a doubt, Project Kolkata 3.0.
