Preparing for University Success at IST

Discover how the International School of Trieste (IST) empowers students to achieve their university aspirations! In this video, our University Counsellor, Michelle Young, along with IST students, shares insights into the comprehensive University Preparation Program offered at IST.

From Grade 11 onwards, IST provides tailored guidance, ensuring students are well-prepared for the university application process. We offer the following:

• Personalized Career Guidance: Explore interests and aptitudes with dedicated sessions and career aptitude tests in Grade 12, supporting students whether they have a clear path or are still considering options.
• Comprehensive Application Support: Grade 13 focuses on practical application preparation, including English proficiency tests and SAT support as an official test site.
• Valuable Qualifications: Students have time to enhance their CV with certificates and language classes offered in the later years of high school.
• Direct University Connections: Benefit from talks with University representatives and access to external consultants for specialized guidance, including US sports scholarships.
• Global Citizen Development: IST fosters a sense of global citizenship, encouraging students to engage with global social and environmental issues and develop a desire to make a positive impact on the world.

Michelle Young, University Counsellor at IST, emphasizes: “at IST we assist students starting from Grade 11… helping them make selections for their subjects in Grade 12 and 13 to support them in the courses that they’ll need for university.”

Giulio, an IST student, shares: “I’m very thankful to the school, to all my teachers who have helped me along the way… and also my University Counselor who has helped me submit everything for university to make sure I get in.“
