|
The Pre-Nursery (2 year-olds) The program is very unstructured and informal. Throughout the school year the introduction and reinforcement of English vocabulary and development of social and motor skills are constantly stressed. Other curriculum areas include Math (counting to 15), Science (seasons, animals and personal growth and care), Art (free expression through drawing, painting and collage) and Music (vocal and instrumental).
Nursery 3 (3 year-olds) The program concentrates on improving the child's basic skills for independence in areas such as playing together and sharing, group cooperation and participation, personal hygiene (washing, dressing, etc.) and following basic instructions. English is emphasized continuously through visual, vocal and physical activities. The weekly timetable includes Craft, Music, Social Studies, Science, Calendar, P.E., and cognitive and readiness skills.
Nursery 4 (4 year-olds) The program aims to help each child experience intellectual growth and educational stimulation to become emotionally sound, to acquire physical well-being, and to become socially well-adjusted. The Nursery 4 program consists of activities relating to Language development, Pre-reading, Pre-writing, Mathematics, Science, Music, Art and P.E.
Kindergarten (5 year-olds) The program is founded on the principle that the five year old child is enthusiastic, curious and ready for learning in a school setting. While building a strong foundation for the skills involved in Mathematics, Science, Language Arts, Social Studies, Art, Music and P.E., children learn to think and perform on their own. The Kindergarten program aims to be responsive to individual differences by having a complexity of materials and activities reflecting the readiness and maturity span of the child. A weekly visit to the school's library and computer skills is also a part of the Kindergarten program.
